The Daniel Plan is authored by Pastor Rick Warren and associates. The book jacket states “God designed our bodies to be healthy, providing everything we need to thrive and live abundantly. And with assistance from medical and fitness experts, Pastor Rick Warren and thousands of people from his congregation at Saddleback Church started a journey to transform their lives.” The plan emphasizes 5 essentials to help us live a healthier life: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus, and Friends.
Class outline: Class will be 1 1/2 hours and include a video presentation about one of the Essentials. A discussion will follow that, and the final video segments will demonstrate the preparation of a healthy food item and a physical exercise. Then, those who wish will take a walk together for exercise and fellowship.
Materials recommended for the class: The Daniel Plan Study Guide ($9) and The Daniel Plan ($10). You may order the books and sign up for the class in the narthex. If you don’t take the class but want the information, reading the $10 book should be helpful.
