Children are a valuable part of Riverside Church!

We are offering several in-person ministries for children at Riverside. 

Sunday School – 9:00 & 10:30 AM

Sunday School at 9:00am
Children will begin in the Sanctuary with parents/grandparents and stay through the Children’s Message.  After the message their Sunday school teacher, will lead them to Room 100, downstairs in the Education Building.  Please pick up your children there after the service.

Epic Bible Teachings at 10:30am 

From the creators of “STELLAR VBS,” we offer “Epic Bible Teachings”, for kids aged pre-school through 5th grade during the 10:30 hour. There are 3 classrooms:   Pre-school kids (aged 3 and up), Kindergarten- 2nd grade, and 3rd-5th grade.   “Epic Bible Teachings” include the Fruits of the Spirit, Putting on the full Armor of God, The Lord’s Prayer, and Psalm 23.  This Sunday School hour keeps kids active, learning through motion, games, crafts, and activities that teach the point of the Bible story of the day.

Children’s Choir & Plays – Practice at 5:30 pm on Sundays (During school year only)

Does your child love to sing and dance?  Come join our children’s choir!  We put on 2 shows a year, and rotate singing in the services for the congregation to enjoy throughout the year.   Our Children’s Choir enjoys pizza parties and ice cream outings every year  (ie… Graeter’s on Lane Ave.)  We also participate in mission projects every year (see Operation Shoebox below).  Contact Vicki Rich: 614-486-5201 or 614-330-4357 with any questions (or if you would like to help!)  

  • Operation Shoebox
Our mission project for Children’s Choir last year was Operation Shoebox!   We gathered hygiene items, socks, small toys, and craft items that fit into a shoebox.  These were donated to children all over the world – many would never receive a Christmas present if not for these shoeboxes.

In addition to these activities children are welcome at all three services.  For your convenience, there is a cry room in the back of the sanctuary (for the 9:00am service ) as well as rocking chairs in the back of the Fellowship Hall and speakers in the lounge (for the 10:30 service).

Nursery on Sunday morning

Our fully staffed nursery will provide excellent childcare for your children 3 1/2  years of age and younger during all services.  Children are cared for by paid staff, assisted by trained volunteers in a safe, clean, fun, dedicated nursery.  

Lifewise Academy

Riverside Church is a proud sponsor of Lifewise Academy. We host 3 elementary schools that learn character building and most importantly, the Bible – DURING SCHOOL HOURS!
